The Town Council Administration

The Town Council’s affairs are administered by an appointed Town Clerk, Mrs Leanne Edwards, who is supported by a Deputy Town Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer, Mrs Debra Jones and a team of part-time managers, administrators and manual staff.

  • The Clerk is the proper officer of the council in law and answerable to the council as a whole.
  • The Clerk is an advisor on matters of policy and is responsible for ensuring that the instructions of the Council, in connection with its functions, are carried out.
  • The Clerk is also accountable to the Council for the effective management of its assets, services and human resources and reports to the Council on a regular basis.
