On this day in history (19th November 1895), Frederick E. Blaisdell patented the pencil, an expressive medium that is often overlooked in favour of other, more popular creative approaches.
To celebrate the humble pencil, we will visually record the local War memorial, using secondary source photographs, a variety of pencils and on different scales.
You will need: A2 &/or A3 cartridge paper (150gsm or above), set of soft (B) pencils, a plastic or putty eraser
Small viewfinders will be on loan from the tutor. Coloured sugar paper will be provided by the Arts Centre.
