Hut 9 Island Farm Open Weekend – 12th & 13th September 2026

Hut 9 at Island Farm, Bridgend, opens for the weekend on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September 2026.

Island Farm is the last remaining prisoner of war camp in South Wales. The open weekend is an immersive experience for all ages, stepping back in time to the 1940s.

Across the weekend you can sit and enjoy a presentation by Brett Exton, re-telling the story of the largest prisoner of war escape in British history, and learn about the ordnance factories, the American soldiers stationed at the camp and the high ranking German officers held there.

Please note that the event is not suitable for children under five, or for people with mobility issues.
